Background:

. I look at cycling as a sport that I can participate for life. Its sustainable.

From 2005 – 2008, I was a big Lance fan and had collected a lot of USPS/Discovery Skinsuits, and yellow jerseys. I even had a Discovery Time Trial bike with similar setup as Lance’s. He was inspiring. Started road racing around 2006 and participated in ITT as well. I took a break from serious cycling from 2009 to 2011.

In 2012, I started to pickup cycling again and took part in a hilly century. Started to train seriously and read up a lot on training with power. Never look back every since.

In 2014, in July, while I was training for ITT at about 4am on my newly purchased Trek Speed Concept (2014) that was only 2 weeks old, I crashed into the back of a stationary Tipper Truck that was parked in a dark section of the road. I crashed head-on at 42 km/h while my hands were on my aerobar. I had no chance to brake at all. I had to undergo 3 major operation to fix my fractured forehead, face, neck and a snapped right forearm. Titanium plates all over my face, neck and arm. I was hospitalised for 5 weeks and was off from work for 10 months. After about 2 months after the accident, I started training on the Elite Turbo Muin and rode almost everyday on Zwift to kill time. I had my first outdoor ride after about 4 months from the accident. After about 8 months on Zwift , I was stronger than I was before the accident(in terms of power) and started racing again!

Nowadays, I train mostly on Zwift on weekdays and ride outdoors mostly on Sunday mornings. Just love to train on Zwift. I get to train efficiently and at the same time, be there at home for my family and kids.

I like to record both my rides on Zwift and outdoors(rides/races), as these become memory archive for me to share with others. You can see them on my youtube channel.

I lead the ASIA 100 km Endurance Ride on Zwift every week on Friday nights(or Saturday mornings). Join me!
